What To Do This Weekend - Craft Fairs, Earth Day Celebrations, and More!

Pssssst......

Yeah, you.....

Don't say it too loudly....shhh.... but, word is we are expecting....double digit temperatures this weekend!

!!

I know, right!! Woot!

And, if that wasn't enough to bring a smile to your lip,s my friends, well, this weekend's list of option is sure to! ... Gosh, where do I even start!

Alrighty, so on Saturday, there are a number of Craft Fairs and Church Sales.... and by number, I mean three apparently ;-) Spring Fling at Mary Queen of The World has many local crafters and vendors (shop local :-), and both St. Andrew's Presbytarian Church and George Street United are having their Spring Sales.

For crafty types, bring the kids over to Michael's store on Saturday morning for a fun craft that recycles paper bags into Tree Art, in honour of Earth Day on Monday..... Also on the Earth Day theme, The Fluvarium is having a special Earth Day Fair on Sunday, and their Kids Club theme on Saturday is Going Green. And, big surprise, the theme for Family Fun at The Rooms on Sunday will be.... Earth Day ;-)

Saturday is International Astronomy Day and the RASC and the GEO Centre have paired up to provide various activities including allowing the public to view the Sun, Moon and Planets through telescopes they will have set up at the GEO Centre from 2PM on.

A couple of other things to be aware of: on Sunday the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation will be hosting their first annual family fun day; and there is a Great Cloth Diaper Change on Saturday to participate in an attempt to get the most cloth diapers changed at once as an entry to the Guinness Book of World Records! And, I want to mention the Children's Read-along at the Rocket Bakery on Water Street - Sundays at 10AM.

Upcoming this week, in addition to the usual play dates, is a special playtime at Marguerite's Place in honour of Child Abuse Awareness Month (Monday 9:30 AM), and Thursday brings Starry Night Story Time at Marjorie Mews Library.

Of course, details for all these events and more are located in the calendar at the bottom of every page of my blog .... in the meantime, here is the short & sweet list to help you plan your weekend :-)
